What we never do

If you are asked for any of this, stop

  • Ask for advance, “allocation”, “registration” or “release” fees
  • Ask for bank messages (MT760, MT799) or proof of funds before a signed contract
  • Ask you to pay into a personal account or an account not named in the contract
  • Change bank details by email or messaging app
  • Offer sugar below market benchmarks or “exclusive mandates” from mills
  • Send offers from free webmail or from any domain other than our own

Confirm an offer

Three checks before you act

  1. 01

    Check the sender

The email address must end with our official domain, letter for letter. Look-alike domains are the most common trick.

  2. 02

    Check our registration

Look up CNPJ 45.706.037/0001-78 on the Brazilian Federal Revenue (Receita Federal) registry. It must show TACJR PARTICIPACOES LTDA with status ATIVA.

  3. 03

    Pay only as contracted

Payment only ever goes through the banking instrument and account named in a signed sales contract.

Know the warning signs

Red flags in the sugar market

Whoever you deal with, these patterns are strongly associated with fraud.

  • Prices well below ICE London No. 5 or ICE No. 11 benchmarks
  • Long chains of intermediaries, each claiming a “mandate”
  • Fixed “procedures” demanding LOI, ICPO, POF or RWA before any offer
  • “Proof of product” documents that the named mill will not confirm
  • Pressure to act within hours, or to keep the deal confidential from your bank
  • Recycled inspection reports, photos or specifications found on other websites
